GAA Skills Day 1oth Dec 2009

On Thursday the 10th of December Tallaght Stadium hosted it’s first ever GAA event. Organised through the Social Inclusion Department of South Dublin County Council sixty children aged between 7 and 12 had the opportunity to participate in Gaelic, Hurling and Camogie training. The primary focus of the day’s activities was to give children from a variety of different cultures the chance to integrate through sporting activity. Four GAA development officers were on hand to provide expert advice on the different techniques and skill involved in each game South Dublin’s Mayor Mick Duff popped in to show his support and declared day “a fantastic success – hopefully the start of many GAA events in Tallaght Stadium”
